Using ICT tools in teaching and learning

 Information and Communication Technology(ICT) refers to all communication technologies, including the internet, wireless network cellphone, computers, software, video conferencing, social networking and other media application and services. Information and Communication Technology(ICT) in education is the mode of education that use information and technology to support, enhance, optimize the delivery of information. So the ICT tools are devices and objects used in information and communication technology. 

So now I am g oing to share about some of the ICT tools that is we use in personal and academic life:

1.  PowerPoint presentation

PowerPoint presentation is one of the ICT tools that we use in personal and academic life. I would say that Power point presentation is very useful in teaching and learning process. As a university student whenever we are asked to do group activities or individual activities, using Power pint presentation to present our work makes it more understandable since the information is presented  in multiple ways through the projection of video, images and music. PowerPoint is widely used as a teaching and learning tool in classrooms. Using PowerPoint presentation in class has lots of benefits to the learners as well as for teachers.

It is commonly known, and research studies proved that pictures have a greater impact than text. When we  study with visual aids, it is much easier for us to remember material. Pictures, graphs, diagrams, and bullet points are common components of a PowerPoint presentation. It improves the memory ability. It also aids us in recalling material for a lengthy period of time. A PowerPoint presentation helps us to learn more. Simultaneously, it helps teachers in  teaching and better delivery of the knowledge. 

PowerPoint helps in presenting information in a multimodal approach by projecting color, images, and video for the visual mode; sound and music for the auditory mode; text and writing prompts for the reading/writing mode; and interactive slides that ask students to do something, such as a group or class activity in which students practice concepts, for the kinesthetic mode. We are able to learn new information faster by using different typefaces, visual effects, and highlighting.  For all learners, providing knowledge in many modalities aids comprehension and memory. Providing information in multiple modalities helps in improving comprehension and remembering for all students as it helps to engage most of our senses.

PowerPoint saves time and effort since it is simple to alter or modify a presentation once it has been generated. PowerPoint is lightweight and easy to share with students and coworkers. PowerPoint can handle video, audio, pictures, and other types of multimedia.

2. laptops

One of the ICT tools that we use for personal and academic life is laptop. Laptop plays very important role in our learning, for educational purpose, we use laptop to do assignments, prepare presentations, share notes, and work with groups on projects. We can use laptop to work on assignments anytime and anywhere.  Laptops with internet connection encourages learning and keeps us abreast of whole world news.

Taking notes by hand is time-consuming and physically demanding. Laptops allow us to type notes immediately into a document. Electronic note-taking is both faster and more flexible than paper-based note-taking. We can use digital note taking to automatically index and organize study materials, search for information quickly using keywords, and share notes with others. Unlike paper notes, which can be destroyed or lost, digital notes can be preserved and backed up to ensure they are not lost. Since the laptop is portable, notes can be accessed at any time and from any location.

Laptops helps students to type and print their work in short duration . Typing  in laptop speeds up the writing process, and word processing software includes capabilities that make it easier for pupils to modify their work. We are able to write on laptops instead of desktop computers at home, in the library, or during classwork time. 

Students' success depends on their ability to operate in groups. Laptops make our group work easier by allowing us to meet in any location, such as a library, a classroom, or at home, and access all of the materials we need, such as classroom notes, journal articles, online research, or software for creating videos, slide shows, or other presentation materials. We can effortlessly share files with one another wherever they have Internet access. 

One of the most significant advantages of laptops is that they enable us to access material from anywhere as long as we have access to the Internet. Getting an Internet connection is easier than ever before, with more establishments offering free Wi-Fi. Students can study anytime they choose, no matter where they are, because to this accessibility. More notes and instructional aids, such as educational programs and websites, can help students do better in the classroom.
